There is nothing more satisfying as a creative then being able to use those skillsets to create a special moment for a dear family member. My sweetest girl, my baby cousin, was getting proposed to on July 3rd, and I was part of the super secret plan with her sisters to get her to the finish line.
So how did we do it?
Whipped up a pretend brand campaign with Meshki of course. I knew if there was one thing Kirti would show up for rain or shine, on any day or time, it would be in support of my photography because she has been one of my biggest cheerleaders from day one. The super secret planning committee worked for months to lock in every last detail. The dress? One she had mentioned months ago would be her dream proposal dress. The shoes? Specifically picked out to celebrate her moment. The hair and makeup? Glam, glam, and more glam so that she would enter feeling her most beautiful self. All part of an elaborate marketing campaign with the mood boards and fake emails and fake zoom calls I whipped up to back it up and dissuade any suspicions or doubt.
And when she walked across that perfectly manicured, bright green lawn of the Pulgas Temple, with the birds chirping quietly in the silence, and finally saw Karan step out in his three piece suit and walk slowly toward her, she froze in that one breathless moment as the truth of what was about to happen hit her and we all knew, we had nailed it. It was a total success.
It’s what every photographer dreams of. Cosmically aligned elements, the perfect softness of light, not another person to be seen in the background of the shots, a couple fully immersed in their moment and full of so much joy, every frame beautiful and a memory that will be imprinted on all our hearts for years to come.
